I have never truly understood it, though I've heard it's proponents opine and in particular Christian apologists decry it.
To me it appears completely useless, if it is what I think it is: the belief that nothing is absolute and all that. So, according to 1984, 2+2 can equal five if the powers that be wish it.
I, for one, am content with the freedom to acknowledge that 2 and 2 make 4, no matter how one slices it.
And what's funny is the people especially religious apologists who claim to oppose it are quite often its most fluffy bunny adherents as it pertains to terrorist activity commited by their deity, and so-called justice which isn't an eye for an eye but ludicrous compensation in damages.
Perhaps you could explain it in a practical sense, but so far as I have seen, I find it entirely useless for anything constructive, as a thought process for describing how things work.

Leo, beg to differ, but 2+2=10 in a binary world.

Don't know nothiin' 'bout relativism.

Lol I like it, and ... yes it does. But I doubt the philosophy / apologist types know the difference between binary and hexadecimal or even what base 10 is.

A young woman by the name of Miss Bright, could travel faster than light, she started out one day, in a relative way, and arrived the previous night.
